Web3 and Blockchain Expert

My Web3 experience comes from a founder project: we built a Unity-based multiplayer game running on Polygon with its own token and NFT collections (GhoVerse, 2023-2024). I designed the ERC-20 token, the NFT collections, wallet connection and the in-game economy on the technical side. My goal isn't just to write contracts; it's to build a structure where the token economy fits the game's real loop and remains understandable for the user.

What does a Web3 expert do?

Web3 development requires designing on-chain smart contracts, the applications that depend on them and the user's interaction with their wallet together. Because a contract's code can't be changed, errors are expensive; so I start by clarifying the economic model and the edge cases.

  • Smart contracts: Structures based on ERC-20 tokens and ERC-721/1155 NFTs, fixed supply, burning, staking and reward mechanics.
  • Wallet integration: Connecting to MetaMask and similar wallets, signing, network switching and correctly showing transaction states in the UI.
  • Game integration: Wallet connection in the Unity client, reading NFT and token balances, and matching in-game items to the chain.
  • Deployment and verification: Deployment on Polygon/EVM networks, contract verification, address and permission management.

GhoVerse: Unity + Polygon

GhoVerse was founded on the idea of a multiplayer game where players truly own their characters, planets and cities. On Polygon we developed our own ERC-20 token (fixed supply, burning and staking/reward mechanics) as well as character and planet NFTs. The first collection had 10,000 pieces and was listed on OpenSea and Rarible. Wallet integration, the real-time multiplayer structure and procedural world generation in the Unity client were developed in our studio.

The most instructive part of the project was the economy design rather than the technical side: if token supply, burning and reward balance don't align with the game loop, the Web3 layer doesn't carry the product. I use that experience today when assessing scope and feasibility in Web3 projects.

Web3 Academy and DAO

In the same period we set up a DAO called Web3 Academy, aimed at education and shared project production on blockchain, metaverse, NFT, coin/token and smart contract topics. A structure where contribution and decision-making are run by the community gave me hands-on experience of DAO mechanics.

Token economy and sustainability

The first question I ask when designing a token or NFT collection is: why will the user hold this asset, and why will it gain value over time? A model based purely on speculation may attract interest in the short term, but it doesn't carry the product. Supply, burning, staking and reward mechanics must be designed together with the product's real usage loop and revenue model.

Security and cost

The most expensive mistake in smart contracts is one that can't be fixed afterwards. During development, access control, reentrancy risks, integer overflows and edge cases are handled separately, and tests are run on a testnet. Gas cost is also part of the design: keeping data off-chain that doesn't need to be on-chain directly affects the user experience and sustainable cost.

When Web3, and when not?

Not every product needs a blockchain. Web3 makes sense when digital ownership, transferability, open verification or community governance is genuinely part of the need. Otherwise a traditional backend offers a cheaper, faster and easier-to-maintain solution. I say this honestly when scoping a project.

Frequently asked questions

Which blockchain networks do you work on?

My experience is on Polygon and EVM-compatible networks. That covers the deployment, verification and application integration of contracts written in Solidity.

An NFT collection, a token, or both together?

It depends on the need. In GhoVerse we used an ERC-20 token together with NFT collections; the token carried the game economy while the NFTs carried character and planet ownership.

Can I add NFT and wallet integration to my game?

Yes. On the Unity side, wallet connection, reading token/NFT balances and matching in-game items to the chain are all possible. We built this structure end to end in GhoVerse.

Do you do smart contract audits?

I'm not an audit firm; I apply security checks during development and recommend an independent audit for critical contracts.

Is a Web3 project always the right choice?

No. If digital ownership, transferability or community governance isn't a real need, a classic backend is more suitable. We evaluate the scope together.

Is the GhoVerse project still ongoing?

GhoVerse was a founder project actively developed between 2023 and 2024. Today I use that experience in Web3 consulting and new project development.
